Gypsy jazz music was popular in the 1930s and 40s all over the world made popular by french guitarist Django Reinhardt. This design was modeled after the Macaferri guitar Django played. The large D sound hole is the feature that gives away this signature sound and look for the type of jazz played on it. Usually played as the rhythm for the group, sometimes it was used for leads and melody.
