Episode 1-4 of Building an 18 String Harp Guitar
We started filming the process of building our most popular custom harp guitar model, the Tonedevil S-18NST, aka the 18-string harp guitar, made popular by the viral video “Sound of Silence” performed by Jamie Dupuis. In this series of videos you can follow the early assembly process all the way up to getting the binding installed. Future episodes are already filmed and being edited to include building the fretboard, finish sanding, spraying the polyurethane, and gluing the bridge and tie blocks on. This is a custom model for a customer who wanted a thistle inlay on the harp head, so part of the process shows our method of using a laser engraver to cut the abalone and pearl laminated sheets and rastering the pocket in the wood.
