Tonedevil Harp Mandolin
This is the Tonedevil Harp Mandolin. Originally built in 2009, it was a commisioned piece for a customer in Illinois. It features a standard mandolin neck with 4 sub harp strings added and is reminiscent of one of the early Chris Knutsen designs. A closeup of the tailpiece shows the pinless design. This instrument was also outfitted with K&K soundboard transducers inside.
The back and sides are made from cherry, the neck is alder with a black walnut stripe, and the top sheet is Engleman spruce. Overall this instrument turned out sounding fantastic, the customer is very pleased with it and it is one of the favorites in his collection of instruments to play.
